Conferences & Events

Motivating, engaging and retaining staff with employee conferences and events surely will never be replaced by zoom and virtual gatherings. I've been privileged to photograph people as they widen their knowledge, meet new people in the business and attend industry events to inform their day-to-day job. It's said that employees who feel they are considered important enough to be sent on conferences feel stronger loyalty towards their bosses, as well as a greater sense of self-worth.

Photography can be shown in real time, either posting up on screens on the main stage, or in break out sessions. Slide shows can start the day to remind delegates of the events of the day before, or finish the close of day with a reminder of the proceedings so far. And to finish, perhaps a montage of the entire programme with the conference leader's closing remarks.

I'm amazed to see many months or even years after a particular conference that desks often have memories of a conference, some framed pictures of an awards' presentation, a picture of an onstage presentation or cheerful group of colleagues. Being there as a photographer to capture those moments, remind everyone of the day's events, but not intruding on stage presentations, and being careful not to be a distraction to nervous speakers, is a key component of working as a conference photographer. And happily there are times when just everyone wants to get a picture.

As you can see from the photography, conferences and training sessions can also be fun as well as work, and make a nice change from a normal day in the office.
